The Dog Express is so proud to have reached the top ten on Technorati of over 55,000 pet blogs, that we wanted to share our and other sites success with our readers. This list is correct as of 03/02/2013, however due to the closeness of rating in the top 10, places and sites to change quite frequently.

1. Neil Gaiman’s Journal

The number one spot according to Technorati goes to Neil Gaiman’s Journal and you may be forgiven for thinking (after  visiting his site), why he is at the top of a pet category!

Neil’s journal is actually all about Neil, however if you start to look through his many articles you will see just how strongly his dog features in his work. Neil’s work has been honoured with many awards internationally, including the Newbery and Carnegie Medals.

2. Pug Problems

The wonderful Pug Problems comes in at a well deserved number two and as the title suggests, this site is dedicated to pugs.

This site has a vast array of helpful, informative and insightful articles on caring for, training, feeding, health issues and living with your pug and shows a knowledge and understanding of the breed that only a true pug lover and owner could possess.

3. All Things Dog Blog

One of my favourite dog sites is at number three, the amazing All Things Dog Blog. This site is jam packed with articles, giveaways, support, advice and a great community feel and you can literally find everything your ever needed to know about dogs on this blog.

Carrie not only writes from personal experience and with a true passion for dogs, but she provides her readers and subscribers with a wealth of information and links to help them and their pooches live in harmony together.

4. DogTipper.com

If you are a dog owner, then it is unlikely that you haven’t heard of or visited the fabulous DogTipper.com website. This site is so much more than a blog and is brought to us by husband and wife team Paris Permenter and John Bigley, who are both professional writers and lifelong dog lovers based in the Texas Hill Country.

They are avid supports or rescue dogs and Paris is also known as America’s Pet Economist™, teaching dog owners across the globe how to economize with their pets without losing that special bond.

5. Terrierman’s Daily Dose

The number 5 spot goes to Terrierman’s Daily Dose and as the name depicts, this blog gives information on working terriers, dogs, natural history, hunting, and the environment.

Although my own personal opinions are anti-hunting, this top 10 is provided as an accurate acconts of that supplied by Technorati and as such this site is still included in our list.

6. Budgerigar Parakeets

A very original and unique blog dedicated to bringing awareness and information about budgerigar parakeets. The site has hundreds of articles and information and is an authority on these colourful and lovely birds.

You can find sections on feeding and breeding, accessories and toys, lifespan, diseases and caring for budgies; so if you have one of these wonderful birds, make sure you pay a visit to this site.

7. 5 Minutes for Fido

It is a proud moment and very exciting when your site reaches the top ten in any blog rating, but to have 2 sites in the top 10 is simply awe inspiring. 5 Minutes for Fido is the second entry from Carrie and this site is an extension of the fabulous work she does via All Things Dog Blog.

5 Minutes for Fido is written in the voice of the dogs and offers Carrie’s pups’ commentary and general silliness on whatever she is currently writing about. A different approach and a well deserved placement for such a fun and friendly site.

8. DogsBlog – Dog Adoption & Rescue

DogsBlog.com is so much more than a dog blog and their position in the top ten is well deserved. DogsBlog.com is a unique and innovative online resource for would-be dog owners to use in order to locate a suitable dog currently living in the animal welfare system.

This site is invaluable to the shelters and rescue centres that it supports, providing free links and listing dogs that urgently need homes. Over 21,000 dogs have found their forever homes due to DogsBlog.com, which is simply amazing!

9. The Dog Express

It seems a little odd to blow our own trumpet, but just 11 weeks after launching The Dog Express, here we are featured in our own list of the Top 10 pet blogs. We are so grateful for this opportunity and to all of our visitors and subscribers for helping us to reach this position.

The Dog Express, like so many others in the top 10 list, is dedicated to supporting dog owners and raising awareness of all dog issues, from health and training to fighting for better animal welfare laws in each and every country (click here to sign our petition)

10. DogBlogPedia

The final spot in the top 10 of pet blogs goes to DogBlogpedia, which is a veritable feast of everything dog. The sites intention is to to assist dog owners by featuring dog articles and videos made by dog experts. Their articles provide valuable information about dogs and dog ownership and include topics such as dog training, dog food, and overall dog health.

The DogBlogpedia can help you decide if owning a dog is right for you and your family and can also help to determine which breed of dog will suit you best.

Other Wonderful Dog & Pet Blogs

  1. Hi! This is my first comment here so I just wanted to give a
quick shout out and tell you I genuinely enjoy reading your blog posts.
Can you recommend any other blogs/websites/forums that cover the same subjects?
    Thanks a lot!

  2. Although just started a blog myself on the subject of Labradors, it isn;t anywhere near deserving to be in the top ten…not enough content for now. But if you’re a labrador ownere, I’ve found ‘The Labrador Site (dot) com’ to be exceptional for the sheer amount of content and good value it provides!
